Located in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Cítricos is a signature dining experience. They are known for American and Mediterranean dishes, as well as, their award winning international wine list. This last trip to Walt Disney World we decided to use our Disney Dining plan points and make a reservation at Cítricos for dinner.
Cítricos’ main dining room is inviting with warm color tones and natural lighting. We were seated toward the back at a large round table. (We were a party of ten. For parties of ten or more you need to call the restaurant directly to reserve a table.) On the way to our table we noticed the bar, wines, open view of the kitchen, and dessert prep. With copper pots and pans adding to the décor.
The Experience
Once we were seated our glasses were filled with triple filtered water. If any of you have tasted Florida water you know it is not the best. This was a pleasant surprise that we did not have to order bottled water for the table. Before we ordered we had the chef come out to our table, due to the fact that my son has a peanut allergy. He discussed what foods were safe for him to eat. They were very accommodating and knowledgeable when it came to his peanut allergy.
My Order
Cocktails and Starters
I order the Strawberry Basil Mule to start, it is certainly a great vodka cocktail with strawberry puree mixed in. For an appetizer I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad. It was full of flavor and covered with a passion fruit vinaigrette. It was a great sized salad for a starter. I even enjoyed the bread that came out while w were waiting for our appetizers.
Main Course
For my main course I ordered the Scallop Risotto. It came with three nicely sized, fresh, scallops over perfectly cooked risotto. I grew up on Italian food, and this dish was top notch. Once again, the portions were perfect.
Dessert
After enjoying our main meals we ordered desserts and coffee. A French Press Pot produced enough coffee for two people to enjoy. I’m a fan of strong coffee and the French press hit the spot. I ordered the no sugar added Raspberry Sorbet. To my surprise, it was full of flavor and refreshing. Wasn’t bitter at all. The perfect end to a delicious dinner.
Overall, Cítricos was a tasty, enjoyable meal. The atmosphere is perfect and the views are amazing. The wait staff is attentive and accommodating. They really made you feel welcomed and made sure you were enjoying your meal. We will definitely be making another dining reservation there for our next Disney vacation!
